Make Rapunzel Jealous

Since I was a little girl, my mum would religiously oil my hair every Saturday. At that time I hated it, me running away from my mum who would be following me with a bottle of coconut oil in her hand was a regular scene every Saturday at home. However, as I grew up, I've realized how much of a difference a good oil massage can do to your mane.

From treating and repairing dry and damaged hair to curing dandruff and providing nourishment to the scalp, the benefits of oiling your hair are many.

Here’s how you can get spa like intensive conditioning for your hair at home:

Its quite simple – Hot oil massage followed by some steam, shampoo and conditioning!

Hair Oil Recipe:
Mix equal parts of Olive oil and Coconut Oil and add a few drops of Castor Oil to it.
Heat this for 1-2 minutes in the microwave.
Olive oil is excellent for repairing damaged hair, making it shiny and smooth. Coconut oil nourishes the hair and promotes hair growth and Castor oil is known to make hair thicker. (Before you start with this treatment, make sure you are not allergic to any of the oils.)

How to oil right?
Make partitions in your hair, and rub warm oil onto the scalp. Gently massage for about 10 minutes and let it stay for atleast an hour.
Dip a towel in hot water for a few minutes. Squeeze the excess water thoroughly and wrap the towel around your head for 7-8 minutes – it opens the pores in your scalp and lets the oil seep through.
Shampoo and Condition as usual.

Oil your hair atleast once a week, however if you have extremely dry hair I suggest you do it twice a week.

Are any of you regular hair oil users as well?
